About the Author
Archie B. Carroll has served on the faculty of the Terry College of Business, University of Georgia since 1972. Positions he has held include President of the Society for Business Ethics, Chair of the Social Issues in Management Division of the Academy of Management, and Fellow of both the Academy of Management and Southern Management Association. He recently completed terms on the Editorial Review Boards of Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Management, and Business and Society.

Professor Archie Carroll's latest book is perfect for business managers wanting to obtain an easy to digest overview of ethical issues in business, and as a supplementary book for a business ethics and society course at both the MBA and undergraduate level.
Professor Carroll of the University of Georgia has been a leading teacher and writer in the area of business ethics for more than twenty-five years. The book has ten chapters, and each chapter contains approximately ten 700 word essays published in his Athens Banner Herald business ethics column between 1999 and 2008.
Many of the columns present both sides of a contentious issue and the reader must come to terms with where he or she stands on the issue. Other essays are filled with useful practical advice for managers struggling with how to apply and reinforce ethics in his or her organization. Each essay is followed by three or four intriguing questions for the reader to consider.
The wide range of topics addressed includes ethical leadership, corporate governance and citizenship, spirituality, and employee and consumer issues. Specific scandals are discussed and survey research findings explained. These issues are timeless.
Professor Carroll's strong moral feelings are evident and his analysis is very even-handed. Read a few essays at a time, digest the information, and see how you can improve the ethics of your own organization.
