Good but I stopped on the second CD

Good but I stopped on the first or second CD.

I totally agree with her premise that we feed our minds and bodies way too much and we don't feed our spirits enough. I absolutely agree with contacting our spirit guides.

The problem I have with this CD set, thus far, is where Sonia starts asking the audience to get up and dance and move - which I have no problem with- it is her tone at this point that I have a problem with.

She starts to sound like she is lecturing children and nagging the listeners like a mother would nag and almost chastise her children for being lazy. To me, at this point, she comes across as somewhat unprofessional and I think forgot that she is talking to adults, not lecturing children.
I just couldn't deal with, what to me, came across as almost a condescending and chastising tone, so I stopped the CDs right there.

I probably should get past that and finish listening to the set, but I don't like being spoken down to like I'm a lazy child. Remember you are a professional talking to adults here.

Listening for my second time now. It's just real life, we all get caught up in the day to day chaos of jobs, kids, family blah blah blah and Sonia is one of those earth angels that are put here to remind us who we are and why we are here. Thank you, thank you so much, I am so grateful to have found you Sonia.

This book opened my eyes to all the possibilities for help from the ArchAngels. Sonia is right...all you have to do is ASK. She tells of the seven Archangels and their individual duties so you know which to address your request. Their response is amazing. She also speaks of your spirit guides who help greatly as well. I have recommended it to many and they have thanked me profusely. Cheryl B.

Marty Brown is the author of the Power Supply Cookbook and Practical Switching Power Supply Design. He earned his amateur radio license at the age of 11 and has had electronics as a hobby throughout his life. He graduated cum laude from Drexel University in 1974. His electronic design history includes underwater acoustics with the department of the Navy, airborne weather radar design (digital and SMPS), a satellite CODEC, and process control equipment. He was previously with Motorola Semiconductor as a principle application engineer, where he defined more than eight semiconductor products in the power conversion market and received two patents. He later started his own electronics consulting firm where he designed products from satellite power systems to power-related integrated circuits for many semiconductor companies. He is presently working in the field of digitally-controlled power supplies with Microchip Technologies. He has eight children, five of whom are adopted. His wife is an internationally known writer and speaker in the area of inter-racial adoption and related issues. He presently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.

This book is a must for any serious prayer warrior in the Body of Christ. Author, Kenneth Copeland explains how every problem in life can be counteracted through prayer.

Teaching us How to pray

I bought this book because my prayer life is too shallow and I want to know how God wants us to pray; specifically. I know we’re to claim His promises for every situation that arises and stand on His word. This is a great book for learning how to do that! Not only are there specific prayers in the book that he and Gloria have thought out and used but the explanation and encouragement scripturally. This book will give you confidence in your prayer life instead of wondering if you forgot something, like I do – You have not because you ask amiss.

Since you can't 'look inside the book' here are the chapters: Prayer Secrets, Praying for Results, The Battlefield of prayer, Prayer that Changes Things (the prayer of Agreement – Binding and Loosing – the prayer of Petition and Supplication & United prayer), Intercessory prayer, Kinds of prayer, Fasting and prayer, Hindrances to prayer, A Deeper life in prayer and Prayers; a chapter dedicated to prayers for different situations. The book is only about 120 pages and no words are wasted or repeated. Kenneth and Gloria Copeland are prayer warriors and I have every confidence that anyone who practices these teachings will walk in victory over their circumstances. It really is helping me settle into a prayer life with confidence.

A Great Question Story with an Unquestionably Embarrassing Amount of Mistakes

Helltown is a book all fans of The Question have been in a panic for, thinking we'd die before we'd see it. But here it finally is, and it's Denny O'Neil's way of rendering in prose form what he created in comic form with lots of interesting updates thrown in (he borrows largely from issues 1-4 and 14 of the 1986 series but updates the plot and main characters involved). First I'll talk about what I think is great about this book, and then, because I feel morally compelled to, I'll talk about the mistakes, problems, and huge gaffs in the book. That being said, even with its frankly embarrassing amount of mistakes, I'll take this novel any day against some others. WARNING: SPOILERS HEREAFTER. The novel centers around Charles Victor Szasz's / Vic Sage's return to Hub City after a ten year self-exile and his desire to find out who his parents are. He runs afoul of Mayor Fermin (an alcoholic puppet political figurehead who beats women because he's so easily controlled by his addiction and anyone with an IQ of a four-year-old or so), Reverend Hatch (a paranoiac and demented preacher who wants to bring Christ to Earth by beginning Armageddon himself), and former USM Colonel Thaddeus McFeeley, aka Crate (a vicious, capable warrior who wants to bring back his family's prestige by raking in millions of dollars worth of profit by outfitted folks for the end times). The allies pitted against the evil axis are Lady Shiva (who nearly kills Sage but comes to revere him), Aristotle Rodor (former prodigy, now adult genius who's been shafted in business but creates his own venerable, peaceful life in spite of it all), Richard Dragon (martial arts master extraordinaire), Myra Connelly (a martyr for her child and love interest of Sage), and Batman and Alfred (enough said). Without completely ruining the plot, this story involves threats on the lives of children, high tech weaponry, religious zealots, and the entire misuse of the best qualities of humanity. What I especially appreciated about this story is the addition of The Dream (I'll say no more so that you can experience it completely new, too) to The Question's origin. The story itself is intriguing, thoughtful , well-paced, action-packed, essentially the quintessential Question story. Awesome stuff. Now the problems. O'Neil wants to update the story, but after referencing Kris Kristofferson, Deanna Durbin, and Bob Dylan, he creates anachronisms by using words like "prolly," references Jackie Chan and Jessica Alba, has his characters use GPU (GPS?) technology; this creates a nearness of the 70s past but confuses us in a light speed jump to 2000 and beyond. Weird. Then there are the typos ("he turned onto a barren street without knowing way" p. 28; "Vic hiked up and path until he stood . . ." p. 46; the word "collegues" p. 50; "Vic throught he heard someone" p. 75; I could go on and on, but we'll leave it there). But the biggest mistake is, within a paragraph (p. 242) Jackie Connelly, Myra's daughter, is alternately called "Jackie" and "Ashely"! There are lots of problems with characterization. Batman gives The Question a serious warning about maiming and killing, and that if he does, Batman tells him he'll hunt him down and bring him to harsh justice; but somehow Batman works side by side with Lady Shiva who kills for fun? There are several more, but this review is getting long. Anyway, if you can enjoy the story in spite of its gaffs, this is a great one. And it stands on its own without needing to necessarily read and/or know what happens in the comics. It's ironic that O'Neil lauds Chris Cerasi as a great editor. I'm not trying to be mean, but he did a horrible job. Even so, O'Neil's and The Question's story stands out as one not to be missed.

It would be perfect if not for the tween terrors who live down the street. Boys would be boys, but those two seem to do nothing but scream.
When they throw a baseball through his window, all he wants is the money to fix it, but then he meets Meg. She's not like the women he's used to, but something about her stands out. It doesn't take long for him to realize she reminds him of something that he'd rather forget. Still, Train finds himself drawn to her, even though it's the last thing he’s looking for.
Meg isn't sure that what they have could ever work. Train isn’t a man who likes change; her life is in near-constant flux. Train puts a high premium on trust; Meg has dark secrets in her past. The pull of their need for each other is strong, but it will need to be very powerful to overcome the challenges before them.

Best of the series

This is by far my favorite book in the "Nightshade" series. I strongly recommend reading them in order, it really enhances Train's transformation from a player to a deeply committed man. Train has been my favorite character throughout all the books. In the first one, he is the only person to call out Amelia constantly (which I felt was needed). In this book, Train meets his neighbor, Meg. They initially are just hookups. But as he gets to know her and her nephews (who live with her), he falls in love with them. It is a great transformation!
I do have a few critiques of the book. I would have liked to see more of Train and Meg getting to know each other and fall in love. Much of the book is about Nightshade and their issues. Pretty much we get to see Train and Meg hook up, hook up again, and then Bam! They are in love and committed. It felt like we were missing something. Also, in previous books, Train is portrayed as near-genius. I didn't really pick up on that in this book. I do feel like details were missing. Train has a scar on his chest. It is referred to several times and he actually leaves when Meg touches it. Yet we are never told what caused it and why he has such a strong reaction. It is like the author forgot about it. His tree tattoo isn't really explained, either. I read between the lines on its meaning. But I'm not 100% sure on it. And Danny dying really felt unnecessary. I didn't care for him as a character, or Amelia, but he didn't need to die. And I didn't understand why Meg was so secretive about what happened with Carlos. She did not have a choice in the matter and I felt she should have been up front with Train from the beginning.
I rated this 5 stars as I absolutely love Train and loved him from the 1st book. I hope to read a lot more about he and Meg in future books!

Love this series

I have read all of the books in this series and love the author’s writing style. The author has given us some rich characters and beautiful love stories with a lot of grit. Danny and Amelia in book 1 and Buster/Caroline in book 2. In book 3 we get Train and Meg and the story does not disappoint. I will say, however, that Train totally surprised me because after his previous wild behavior I didn’t expect such an affectionate, sweet man who strongly loves and supports those who need him. He wasn’t looking for love when he found Meg and her two nephews, but he found it and became a hero. Train takes Meg’s nephews and sees the bad things that abusive parents can leave behind because he suffered also from not being loved. He supports Meg in her endeavor to get back custody of her nephews and it was touching how the big bad guy falls hard for these young boys in need of a man to love them and guide them. I think Train is now my favorite character of this series.
Of course the club had more troubles and more fighting. There’s some gritty violence between the good guys and the bad guys along with some club in-fighting. We say good bye to some of the people we have come to love in the series but most all of them continue to walk into the sunset with a HEA.
I hope that we can look forward to more books by this author in the near future. Love her gritty, real life writing style.

I will say that this had a few huge shockers I did not see coming at all

Joseph "Train" Grimes has never done relationships, he has sweetbutts and other women to satisfy any needs he has. Now that the club has burned to the ground, Train finds himself living in a house of the the first time alone. Train had always lived above the bar/club and not he is enjoying the quiet. That is when the hellions across the street are quiet. After yet another incident with them ending in a broken window, he finally meets what he assumes is their mom Meg Castle. Train can't deny he finds her attractive and when he realizes she is actually the aunt to the hellions he makes a move.

What starts off as no strings attached loving ends up building into something more. Train isn't sure what to do in the way of relationship with Meg but he knows he doesn't want to lose her. Meg puts all her trust in Train even with her life a turbulent mess but there is one thing about Meg that Train doesn't know and it could threaten everything.

Excellent third book in the series. I will say that this had a few huge shockers I did not see coming at all. Loved Meg and Train, he is a bit of a jerk at times but with Meg he is incredibly sweet. Was looking forward to this one and not disappointed at all.
