About the Author
Halko Weiss, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and lecturer on mindfulness, couples therapy and body-centered psychotherapy for, among others, the Bavarian Licencing Board for Psychotherapists, ZIST Academy, University of Marburg, and the University Hospital in Tuebingen, Germany. Dr. Weiss initiated the largest multi-center scientific research project to date on body psychotherapy, authored 20 scientific publications and six books, and co-founded the Hakomi Institute in Boulder, Colorado. Leading hundreds of workshops and training courses throughout Germany, the US, Canada, and Australia, Dr. Weiss has been instrumental in developing the Hakomi Method and its curricula used worldwide. He also established a successful coaching training program in Germany and became the market leader there in Emotional Intelligence trainings for executives.

Greg Johanson, MDiv, PhD, LPC, NCC, a founding trainer of the Hakomi Institute, has a background in therapy as well as theology. He is a member of the American Psychological Association as well as the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. He has been active in writing, publishing over 175 items in the fields of psychotherapy and pastoral theology including (with Ron Kurtz) Grace Unfolding: Psychotherapy in the Spirit of the Tao-te ching. Greg has served on the editorial board of six professional journals and as editor of Hakomi Forum and has taught as an adjunct in a number of graduate schools. He has a special interest in integral psychology, which relates spirituality to individual consciousness and behavior in the context of social and cultural issues.

Lorena Monda, MS, DOM, LPCC, is a practicing psychotherapist and a doctor of oriental medicine. Lorena is a trainer for the Hakomi Institute and adjunct faculty at the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas, where she teaches courses in clinical communication integrating Hakomi skills. She is the author of The Practice of Wholeness: Spiritual Transformation in Everyday Life;� a coauthor of The Clinical Guide to Commonly Used Chinese Herbal Formulas and The Clinical Handbook of Chinese Veterinary Herbal Medicine; and a coeditor of I Have Arrived, I Am Home: Celebrating 20 Years of Plum Village Life. Lorena lives in New Mexico with her husband John Scott and teaches Hakomi in the United States and internationally. She is currently working on a book called Mindfulness, Qi, and Transformation.

Praise for an outstanding book.....

Hakomi changed my life. It is one of the original mindfulness-based psychotherapies and has flown under the radar for far too long. Hopefully this elegant and impressive book will change that. I can’t recommend this compassionate and effective modality strongly enough. If you are looking for an experiential method that creates real change in unconscious beliefs and behaviors in a collaborative and non-pathologizing way, Hakomi is that method. This book is also timely to what is going on now in the fields of neuroscience, trauma, attachment theory and emotional regulation. The multiple authors create a coherent and articulate volume that I hope becomes a doorway for many into this transformative practice.

Found this book with a technical information search. A specialized subject, to be sure; but the theory and technical discussion is outstanding. It offers a short course in the subject for the scientist/engineer that provides a perspective and understanding of the subject including the theoretical and practical. More than half the book is actual data that is well organized and provides a treasure trove of RF backscatter data that can save hours and hours of literature researching.

Beautiful missal for a beautiful Mass

If you go to the traditional Mass (or are thinking about it), then this little leaflet missal is for you. It has all you need to follow the beautiful Tridentine Mass. But, it has much more than just the words of the Mass in Latin and English; it has some of the most beautiful prayers for before and after Mass, including the well-known prayers of St. Ambrose and St. Thomas Aquinas.
The missal also has instructions for confession, short meditations on the mysteries of the Rosary, and music for the Mass of the Angels. Not to mention beautiful artwork on the cover and throughout the missal.
Even if you've never been to a traditional Mass, you will probably find this little missal most helpful. In the margins there are brief explanations of the meaning of each prayer or its origins. If you've never been to a traditional Mass, this little Missal just might convince you to go.

Houstonians: This is a slightly larger version of the same missal handed out for the Tridentine Masses at Annunciation Catholic Church in Houston, TX.
I've heard it's commonly in use elsewhere around the country as well.
It's very nice to have my own copy for studying at home. I highly recommend anyone considering buying a copy to do so.

Excellent Latin Mass Booklet

This is an excellent booklet for following the traditional Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in latin. It also contains many prayers and an Examine of Conscience. It even has the music for the Mass of the Angels (Missa de Angelis). If you don't have a Missal, this is what you should use.

Great book for novice model train builders

I have always been interested in model trains but I had no clue where to start. I have to say I was a little intimidated by the process until I found this book. This is a great book for some one looking to start building model trains. The book provides beginners with all the steps that are needed to begin building. I liked that the author provides definitions for all the terminology so when shopping for the supplies you have some idea of what you are talking about. Every step of the process was so easy to understand and follow. The most helpful section for me was the one that described all of the different choices in setting up the wiring. I am not that familiar with wiring but I could understand everything that was described. Now that I have learned the basics I am able to teach my kids and they are loving it. Model train building has become a new found hobby for the entire family.

Perfect for Beginners!

Many people nowadays don't understand or appreciate why someone would want to invest time and money into a model train hobby. But as explained in this book there is so much more to the hobby than just a way to pass the time. The book is right in stating that model trains can be a bonding activity between the young and old and is a great mental stimulation for everyone. Not only is the history interesting but in some cases it can be good for your health! This book is great in that it explains the terminology associated with the hobby, including a glossary in the back. There is also step by step instructions for how to go about building your own model train set-up as well as the various ways you can customize it. In addition the book provides a guide on what trains to get and the differences in the materials an quality. All in all this book really gets at the lifestyle and joy that Model Train building can offer.

Pleasant Surprise

When I received "The Wonderful World of Model Trains" for free, I have to admit I was a bit surprised. It had been years since I was last interested in train sets and thought I had gotten over my interest in them. Not even halfway through Chapter One of this book I was intrigued once more. Fascinated and planning ways to get my own set. This book was very easy to read and addressed a lot of questions I had head on. It gave nice clear advice that would help anyone of any caliber ranging from someone brand new to model trains, to someone with a lot more experienced that perhaps grew up playing with them and passed it on to their kids and grandkids. I highly recommend this book to beginners as it not only really helped re kindle my passion I had forgotten about, but also saved me a lot of time and frustration with it's helpful tips and tricks on where to start when building and planning my lay out, or how to get others involved no matter their age with different scenes and track types/sets that can be used.

LA LOUISIANE

Louisiana is blessed with an abudence of architecturally significant buildings and this book selects some of the best examples. I appreciated how Ms. Kingsley gives each section of the state equal time and does not focus exclusively on New Orleans. I mean I love New Orleans, but as this books shows, there are significant buildings all over the state. This book has well researched text and many buildings are occompanied by images. My only real qualm with the book is that not all buildings described come with an image, but the images that are included are well conceived, though black and white. I recommend this book to anyone with a love of Louisiana or frankly just fine architecture.
